Dear Holy Spirit,
I’m out here in the back of the church and wanted to show you something fun—this is our Prayer and Meditation Garden, right next to Pentecost Park.
Not everyone knows this space is back here, but it’s a beautiful, shaded area along the back of our building, framed by crepe myrtles and offering a peaceful place to sit and reflect.
You might remember that our Christmas Offering this year went toward building a rainwater collection system to help irrigate this space. Well—I’m excited to show you—it’s almost ready!
Right over here is the giant collection tank, which will gather rainwater from this spout that comes off our metal roof. Every year, thousands of gallons of rainwater run off that roof—and now we’ll be able to capture it and use it!
The tank sits on a new concrete slab, and these lines here (soon to be buried) will carry water to the plants so they stay healthy year-round, even during the hot Texas summer.
Thank you for your generosity in making this happen! I can’t wait until we can bless this space together once it’s fully up and running.
If you have any questions about our church’s commitment to sustainability and creation care, just let me know. This is part of our calling—to be faithful stewards of God’s creation.
See you Sunday!
In Christ,
Jason+
