A Transition in our Parish Office

Dear People of Holy Spirit,

I’m writing with sadness to share that Dee Whelan, our Parish Administrator since December, has accepted a position in North Carolina that will allow her to be closer to family. Her last day with us will be Friday, July 31.

Dee has done so much to help us become better organized this year. She brought our safeguarding work up to date, documented important processes, and supported our community partners in countless ways—many of them behind the scenes. I’m deeply grateful for all she has given to Holy Spirit, and she will be missed.

I’m also grateful to welcome Annette Ortiz, pictured above, as our Interim Parish Administrator. Annette was recommended to us by Spherion Staffing and Recruiting, the same agency that connected us with Dee. She is beginning with us on a temporary basis, with the possibility of staying permanently if it proves to be a good fit for everyone.

Dee will spend this week helping Annette learn the role. If you have an opportunity, please stop by the parish office to thank Dee for her service and to give Annette a warm Holy Spirit welcome.
