The Rev. Jason Ingalls
Rector
When I came to Holy Spirit in 2014, I was struck by our parishioners’ love of two things: spiritual growth and local service. My wife Dr. Monique Ingalls and I had lived abroad for five years, where I served small congregations in Toronto, Canada, and two village churches in Cottenham and Rampton, UK. There was something of those small congregations at Holy Spirit that I wanted to tend and water. I love this work because God has been teaching me to slow down and in deeper ways shepherd the souls of this plucky, energetic, wonderful people. Since 2014, Monique and I have welcomed two daughters into our home. If you don’t find me at church, it’s probably because I’m trying to keep up with them!
The Rev. Dr. Larry Adams-Thompson
Priest Associate
A non-stipendiary Priest at Holy Spirit Episcopal Church since August 2022, I bring 25+ years of experience as a senior pastor of theologically and culturally diverse and vibrant congregations, among other responsibilities, as a US Army chaplain. The uniqueness of this calling- shepherding a community both at their workplace and on Sunday - deepened my awareness of the importance of a meaningful and committed Christ-centered community. From my first conversations with Fr. Jason, the Vestry, and the congregation of Holy Spirit, my wife Michele and I have felt such warmth and love from this church family. And that same spirit is earnestly extended to the neighborhood and wider community in living out Jesus’ call to love God and our neighbors through service that’s focused outward. The living, breathing, and joyful sense that each of us matters to God and to one another is experienced in this place.
Dr. Rebecca Erickson
Missional Music Coordinator
Rebecca Erickson is a singer, educator, conductor, researcher, and poet. She accepted the call to Holy Spirit Episcopal Church to become the Missional Music Coordinator because its scope and vision powerfully aligned with a conviction which has crystallized over the course of her life: communities that sing together listen to one another. Being raised in the Episcopal Church, her understanding of human nature as related to the divine is that our lives on Earth are only meant as energetic conduits for God’s Grace, Mercy and Truth to enter creation. Rebecca believes in creating and holding space for humans to hear one in their musicking together. She knows also that this is how humans, unstrung from the music of their own lives, rediscover their creative voices. Humans capable of listening to one another and singing to one another through connection to their authentic voices become the sources of godly community.
The depth of Rebecca’s training in versatile facets of musicking—teaching, performing, arranging and composing, and scholarship—inform a lived praxis she wants to apply to tuning human communities to each other in song and service to God’s will to have them love one another... And so build the kingdom here.
Shari Pauley
Business Administrator
I began working at Holy Spirit in 2007 after moving from Georgia (via many other states!). I have been an office manager and service coordinator, along with many other hats along the way. Working in a church as a Business Administrator is a little different than what I have done before, but other jobs have given me lots of experience in administration. In my free time, I love to curl up with a good book.
