Our worship follows a basic order: we hear Scripture proclaimed, the Scripture is illuminated by a short sermon (15 minutes or under), we pray, we ask forgiveness for our sins, we pass God’s peace to one another, and then receive the Eucharist, which is also called Communion or Lord’s Supper.

We have a casual but highly reverent understanding of our worship. We take seriously the meaning of what we are offering to God but are unbothered by crying babies or sensory seeker needs. You are welcome here. If you would like to talk with someone before your first visit, please contact us.

What to Wear on Sunday

You’ll see a bit of everything around here. We want you to be comfortable focused on our worship together. Dress pants, jeans, dresses, shorts, suit jackets, and vests all turn up from time to time. We welcome you as you are.

What to Do on Sunday

You’ll see some people cross themselves, some kneel, some genuflect, some bow. We want you to express your faith in the way that is the most authentic to who you are. The service bulletin has indications of when some people might make a gesture. You are welcome to. You are also welcome to observe or try something to see if it feels right. If you have any questions about what people are doing in worship, please speak with one of our clergy following the service.

If you’d like, you can also ask one of our Greeters to place you with a parishioner in the service who will be happy to answers questions as the service goes along. You’re also welcome to sit in the back and just observe! The point, which you are probably getting, is that you are welcome here at whatever stage of your faith you find yourself. We are just glad you are here!

Children

Children are welcome in our services. As the future of our faith, we believe that children belong in the worshipping community, helping us give honor and glory and praise to God.

Children under three are welcome in our Nursery, which you can learn more about here. You are also welcome to keep your children with you! Children are welcome at all services.

Outside the Nave, where our Sunday worship takes place, you’ll see activity bags for children or for those with sensory needs who might enjoy them. The bags are for use during the service to keep people engaged and connected to the larger work of prayer we are doing together.

If you have any questions you would like answered before your visit, please just reach out.
