Disability Inclusive Recreational Ballet

We are thrilled to host a recreational ballet class for children with and without disabilities, taught by Waco School of Ballet.

This is come-as-you-can, stay-as-long-as-you-can. We know that disabled kids sometimes have days that are easier than others. This is a space where they are welcome, regardless of what day they are having. There is a sensory-friendly playground and calm down room on site, which we will continue to build as we grow to serve the needs of our community.

Join us every Wednesday from 4:45 PM – 5:30 PM in the Parish Hall.

Ages 3-12. Come in clothes that are easy to move in (no ballet wear required).

We require a brief registration form, which can be filled out upon arrival or you can download it here. Print and bring the form with you or email it to Hilary Yancey. The form inquires if your child has any particular care needs or strageies for helping make this space welcoming to them. If your child experiences a hard first time in the class, please do not hesitate to let us know what can be done to make the space suitable for them. We will always seek to do what we can.

The classes are paid for by Holy Spirit, but please confirm with Hilary Yancey if you are new to ensure adequate coverage, or call the church office: 254.772.1982

Snacks, free WiFi, and table space to work or relax is available to parents and guardians while children dance. The on-site playground is a great place to take younger siblings.

Currently, we are seeking additional volunteers beyond our teachers to assist with children. At this time, please remain on campus in case your child needs you.

All are also welcome to stay for the 6 PM service, which follows with a dinner around 6:45 PM, but we provide this as a service to our parish community. No expectations.
