Adult Ed Opportunities This Lent

1) On Wednesday evenings, Dr Steven Reid, Professor of Christian Scripture at Truett Seminary, will speak on this year’s Lenten theme, 1 John 5:3-4: “Obey His Commandments.”  See Carol Reagan’s announcement about Religious Education for more details.

2) On Sunday mornings during Lent, Dr Peter Candler, Holy Spirit parishioner and Associate Professor of Theology at Baylor, will be leading a discussion of Pope Benedict’s just-published book, Jesus of Nazareth. Part Two: Holy Week: From the Entrance into Jerusalem to the Resurrection. This is a timely and insightful reading of the passion narratives of Jesus in the Gospels, and a wonderful object of our attention in this season as we “set our faces toward Jerusalem.”  We will meet from 9:30 until 10:15 in the Parish Hall.  Please feel free to procure your own copy of the book.  It is published by Ignatius Press, and is available on amazon.com for $13.72.  An accompanying Study Guide is also available, and highly recommended.
