New and Notable Happenings at Holy Spirit


  • THANKSGIVING EVE will be celebrated on Wednesday, Nov 21 at 12:15 pm.
  • HEALING SERVICE & HOLY COMMUNION will be held Wednesday, Nov 28 at 6:00 pm.
  • THE FEAST OF ST. ANDREW will be celebrated on Friday, Nov 30 at 12:15 pm.


  • YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID USA has been cancelled due to low attendance. It will be rescheduled in early 2019.
  • SAVE THE DATE! Please mark your calendars for Sunday, Dec. 2. We will have ONE combined service at 9 am. In recognition of the new Church calendar year, we’ll take the opportunity to come together as a congregation and reflect on where God has brought us over the past year, where God is calling us for the coming year, and where we believe we’re called into the future. This Advent I, please plan to join us for one service at 9 am with instrumental music AND choir for Rite II Eucharist. Afterwards, we’ll gather for brunch and our meeting. All are welcome! No Sunday School that day. Nursery will be available for childcare.
  • NURSERY WORKERS NEEDED. We are looking to hire two nursery workers to care for our younger children and babies. The positions are paid and include hours on Sunday mornings and the possibility of work on Wednesday evenings and for special events. If you have questions or are interested, please contact Preston Yancey at pyancey@holyspiritwaco.com. Resumes with references are appreciated.


  • ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL. “Thee, O God we praise”: A Study of the Canticles, meets 8:30-8:55 in the Library, led by Matt Anderson; Luke: Jesus the King, meets 10:10-11:10 in the Parish Hall, led by Preston Yancey. Please read Luke 12 for 11/18, and Wisdom 2 and 9 for 11/25; and, School of Prayer meets 10:10-11:10 in the library, led by Fr. Jason and Mthr. Bobbi.
  • CHILDREN’S SUNDAY SCHOOL. Children aged 3-7 and 8-12 meet in the Education Wing from 10:10-11:05. The 3-7s are learning about Moses and the 8-12s are learning about the Prophets.
  • WEDNESDAY NIGHT FAITH AND FICTION. We are continuing our study of the short stories of Flannery O’Connor. On 11/21 we are not meeting. On 11/28 we are reading “A Temple of the Holy Ghost”. Eucharist at 6, dinner at 6:45, discussion at 7. Childcare provided. Please join us! Books and bookmarks in the Parish Hall if you need a copy!
  • TUESDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY. The Tuesday Morning Bible Study has completed their current study and will not meet again until Jan 2019
